Membership Eligibility

Membership in the Order of Alhambra is open to Catholics who are at least 18 years of age and in good standing with the Church. Eligible individuals may seek membership in the Caravan of their choice, provided they fulfill the initiation requirements and agree to follow the governing documents of the Order.

The Order welcomes both lay Catholics and members of religious life, including priests, deacons, religious brothers, and religious sisters. Clergy and religious have long played an important role in the spiritual life and charitable work of the Order.

Recognized by the Church

The Order of Alhambra is listed by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops in its Directory of Lay Movements, Organizations, and Professional Associations. The Order has also been honored by Pope Saint John Paul II, reflecting its longstanding dedication to Catholic faith, service, fellowship, and historical preservation.

The Order is privileged to have an Ecclesiastical Protector and a Supreme Chaplain who provide spiritual guidance and support to its members.
